Index of Severity for Osteoarthritis of the Hip by Lequesne

Download / Print :    PDF

Description:

Composite scale initially written in French, created in the 1970s (published in 1980) and widely used because of its simplicity and short administration time (4 minutes).

It evaluates the painful and functional impact of knee osteoartiritis (OA).

The index consists of 11 questions on pain, troublesomeness and functional impact. The scoring is from 0 (no pain or disability) to 24 (maximal pain and disability).

The poor constructive validity of the scale lead to the creation of a modified index with the omission of one question.
